Join our dynamic team as an Outdoor Adventure Guide and lead unforgettable experiences amidst the stunning landscapes of Switzerland, particularly around Lake Constance and the wider Thurgau region. This role involves guiding individuals and groups through various outdoor activities, ensuring their safety, enjoyment, and education about the local environment and culture. You will be responsible for meticulously planning and executing tours, managing equipment, and providing excellent customer service, making every adventure a memorable one.
Hauptverantwortlichkeiten
- Lead and supervise outdoor adventure activities such as hiking, cycling, water sports, and other nature-based excursions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by strictly adhering to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Provide engaging commentary and educational insights about local flora, fauna, history, and culture.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip briefings, equipment checks, and post-trip debriefings.
- Maintain all adventure equipment in excellent working condition, reporting any necessary repairs or replacements.
- Adapt tour plans and activities based on weather conditions, participant abilities, and unforeseen circumstances.
- Handle administrative tasks related to tour operations, including participant waivers and feedback collection.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all participants, encouraging teamwork and appreciation for nature.
Erforderliche Fähigkeiten
- Proven experience in leading outdoor adventure activities (hiking, cycling, water sports)
- Excellent knowledge of local geography, trails, and environmental considerations, especially in the Thurgau region and around Lake Constance
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (minimum WFA or equivalent)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups
- Fluent in German and English; knowledge of Swiss German or other languages is a plus
- Ability to problem-solve effectively and make quick decisions in dynamic outdoor environments
- Physical fitness and stamina to lead demanding outdoor activities
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and risk management.
Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
- Professional guiding certification (e.g., UIMLA, Swiss Mountain Guide Association, BCU or equivalent for water sports)
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Italian)
- Experience with GPS navigation and other outdoor technology
- Degree or diploma in Tourism, Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or higher medical certification
