We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hybrid UAV/Drone Systems Engineer to join our innovative team. This role focuses on the design, development, integration, and testing of complex unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems, incorporating both advanced hardware and intelligent software components. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of aerospace engineering principles, robotics, control systems, and embedded software development, with a passion for bringing cutting-edge drone technology to life. You will play a crucial role in developing hybrid systems that leverage the strengths of various propulsion and control mechanisms, ensuring high performance, reliability, and safety for diverse applications.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, develop, and integrate hybrid propulsion systems (e.g., electric-petrol, VTOL-fixed-wing) for advanced UAV platforms.
• Perform system-level analysis, trade studies, and requirements definition for new drone concepts and features.
• Develop and implement flight control algorithms, navigation systems, and mission planning software.
• Conduct extensive testing, validation, and verification of UAV hardware and software components, both in simulation and real-world environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to UAV systems, including avionics, power management, sensors, and communication links.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless system integration.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the unmanned systems space.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience with UAV/drone systems design, development, and integration.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python for embedded systems and robotics applications.
• Experience with flight control systems, navigation algorithms (GPS, IMU, vision-based), and sensor fusion techniques.
• Familiarity with CAD software for mechanical design and PCB design tools for electronics.
• Understanding of communication protocols (e.g., MAVLink, CAN, I2C, SPI).
• Solid knowledge of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and control theory.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with open-source UAV platforms (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot) and simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, SITL).
• Prior experience with hybrid-electric or alternative propulsion systems for aerospace applications.
• Knowledge of safety-critical systems design and relevant industry standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254).
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
• Familiarity with machine learning and computer vision applications for autonomous navigation and object detection.
