Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Beekeeping Assistant to join our apiary team in Rust, Burgenland. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about beekeeping and sustainable agriculture. You will work under the guidance of experienced apiarists, contributing to the health and productivity of our bee colonies and the production of high-quality honey and other bee products. This role requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt to the seasonal demands of beekeeping.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist with routine hive inspections and colony health assessments.
• Perform hive maintenance, including cleaning, repairing equipment, and managing bee space.
• Support swarm management and queen rearing activities.
• Participate in honey extraction, processing, and packaging.
• Monitor for pests and diseases, and assist with appropriate treatments.
• Help with apiary setup, expansion, and relocation of hives.
• Maintain accurate records of hive activities, production, and treatments.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and hygiene standards in the apiary.
• Contribute to the general upkeep and organization of the apiary site and equipment.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Basic understanding of bee biology and behavior is a plus, but not strictly required.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 25kg).
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driving license and ability to drive to various apiary sites.
• Willingness to wear protective beekeeping gear.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Previous experience in beekeeping or agriculture.
• Knowledge of local flora and foraging patterns relevant to bees.
• First-aid certification.
