Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hybrid Advanced Ceramics Researcher to join our innovative R&D team in Berlin. This role involves pioneering research into novel ceramic materials, focusing on their synthesis, characterization, and application in cutting-edge technologies. You will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, contributing to projects that span from fundamental material science to applied product development. The position requires a deep understanding of ceramic processing techniques, material properties, and their performance under various conditions. This is a hybrid role, requiring a significant presence at our Berlin research facility for lab work and collaborative meetings, with flexibility for remote work on specific tasks.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design and execute experimental plans for the synthesis and processing of advanced ceramic materials.
• Perform comprehensive characterization of ceramic materials using techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, mechanical testing, and thermal analysis.
• Analyze and interpret data to understand material structure-property relationships and optimize performance.
• Develop and implement new methodologies for ceramic material fabrication and characterization.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, chemists, and product developers, to integrate new materials into innovative applications.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in advanced ceramics and materials science.
• Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company through patent disclosures.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• PhD in Materials Science, Ceramics Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of post-doctoral or industrial research experience in advanced ceramics.
• Proficiency in ceramic processing techniques (e.g., sol-gel, sintering, additive manufacturing).
• Expertise in material characterization methods (e.g., XRD, SEM, TEM, DSC/TGA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with high-temperature materials and refractory ceramics.
• Familiarity with computational materials science tools (e.g., DFT, FEM).
• Proven track record of scientific publications and patent applications.
• Experience in project management within an industrial R&D setting.
• Proficiency in German language is a plus.
