Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hybrid Polymer Chemist to join our Material Development team in Gratkorn. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the research, development, and characterization of novel hybrid polymer materials with enhanced properties for various high-performance applications. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, experimental design, data analysis, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to commercialization.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, synthesize, and characterize novel hybrid polymer systems, focusing on optimizing their mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
• Develop and implement new experimental methodologies for material synthesis and processing.
• Perform extensive analytical testing using techniques such as FTIR, NMR, DSC, TGA, DMA, SEM, and TEM.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with engineers, material scientists, and product development teams to translate material innovations into new products.
• Contribute to patent applications, scientific publications, and internal knowledge sharing.
• Ensure all research and development activities adhere to safety regulations and quality standards.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in polymer chemistry and material science.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in hybrid polymer synthesis and characterization.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and materials science.
• Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques (FTIR, NMR, DSC, TGA, DMA, SEM, TEM).
• Experience with experimental design (DoE) and statistical analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to innovation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with sol-gel chemistry or inorganic-organic hybrid materials.
• Familiarity with polymer processing techniques (e.g., extrusion, injection molding).
• Knowledge of polymer rheology and mechanical testing.
• Experience in an industrial R&D setting, preferably in the automotive, packaging, or construction sector.
• Proficiency in German is a plus.
