We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hybrid Quantum Computing Researcher to join our innovative team in Vienna. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in the rapidly evolving field of quantum computing, with a specific focus on hybrid quantum-classical algorithms and applications. The successful candidate will work on developing, implementing, and testing new quantum algorithms, integrating them with classical computational resources, and exploring their potential across various scientific and industrial domains. You will collaborate with a diverse team of physicists, computer scientists, and engineers to push the boundaries of quantum technology.
Hauptverantwortlichkeiten
- Design, develop, and optimize hybrid quantum-classical algorithms for various applications, including optimization, machine learning, and simulation.
- Implement quantum algorithms on IBM's quantum systems (e.g., IBM Quantum Experience) and classical high-performance computing platforms.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.
- Collaborate with internal and external research teams, contributing to open-source quantum software projects (e.g., Qiskit).
- Stay current with the latest advancements in quantum computing theory and hardware.
- Mentor junior researchers and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.
- Present research findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Erforderliche Fähigkeiten
- Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Quantum Information, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of quantum mechanics and quantum computation.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with quantum computing frameworks (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, Pennylane).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing quantum algorithms, especially hybrid quantum-classical approaches.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.

- Postdoctoral experience in quantum computing or a related field.
