Are you passionate about nature, enjoy working outdoors, and love interacting with people from different backgrounds? Steirische Lavendelwelt GmbH is seeking an enthusiastic Lavender Farm Assistant to join our dedicated team. This unique role combines hands-on farm work with providing a warm welcome to our English-speaking visitors. You will be instrumental in maintaining our beautiful lavender fields and ensuring a delightful experience for tourists interested in our products and farm life. No prior extensive farm experience is required – we value a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Hauptverantwortlichkeiten
- Assist with the cultivation, planting, weeding, and harvesting of lavender and other aromatic plants.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the farm grounds, including pathways and common areas.
- Provide friendly and informative assistance to English-speaking visitors, answering questions about lavender, our products, and the farm.
- Support the farm shop operations, including stocking shelves, basic sales, and packaging of products.
- Participate in irrigation and pest control activities using organic methods.
- Operate basic farm equipment under supervision (e.g., small tractor, trimmers).
- Contribute to the overall positive atmosphere and guest experience on the farm.
- Assist with other general farm duties as required.
Erforderliche Fähigkeiten
- Proficiency in English (verbal communication for welcoming guests).
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Eagerness to learn about organic farming and lavender cultivation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
- Basic knowledge of German is a plus.
- Previous experience in agriculture, gardening, or hospitality.
- Interest in organic farming and sustainable practices.
- Ability to operate small farm machinery.
- Valid driver's license.
