Join the dedicated ground operations team at Austrian Airlines as a Ramp Agent / Baggage Handler. This critical role involves ensuring the safe and efficient handling of aircraft and passenger baggage, contributing directly to our operational excellence and on-time performance. It’s a physically demanding position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, performed outdoors in various weather conditions.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement.
• Operate ground support equipment (GSE) such as tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Guide aircraft to and from parking positions on the ramp using precise visual signals.
• Perform pre-arrival and post-departure aircraft checks as required.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and airport procedures.
• Communicate effectively with flight crews, airline personnel, and ground control.
• Work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area on the ramp.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Ability to lift heavy items (up to 32 kg) repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic communication skills in English.
• Valid Class B driving license.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Previous experience in a ground handling, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
• Forklift operation certification or experience with other heavy machinery.
• Fluency in German (written and spoken) is an advantage.
