We are seeking a highly motivated Meteorology Intern to join our remote data team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in collecting, processing, and analyzing meteorological data from diverse remote sources. You will contribute to projects that enhance weather forecasting models and climate research, working alongside experienced data scientists and meteorologists. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to collaborate with a global team from anywhere in Austria.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist in the collection and validation of meteorological data from satellite imagery, radar, and ground sensors.
• Perform preliminary data cleaning, transformation, and quality control.
• Support data visualization and reporting efforts using various analytical tools.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of data processing scripts.
• Research and evaluate new remote sensing technologies and data sources.
• Collaborate with team members on ongoing projects and data initiatives.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Basic understanding of meteorological concepts and principles.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation.
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Data Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience with large datasets and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

• Prior experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Demonstrated interest in weather forecasting or climate research.
