We are seeking a skilled and passionate Upholsterer to join our furniture repair and restoration team in Karlsruhe. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of various upholstery techniques, and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship. You will be responsible for repairing, re-upholstering, and restoring a wide range of furniture pieces, ensuring they meet our exacting standards and exceed customer expectations. This is an on-site position requiring hands-on work in our workshop.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Inspect furniture to determine the extent of damage and necessary repairs.
• Disassemble furniture, remove old upholstery, and prepare frames for new materials.
• Measure, cut, and sew fabric, leather, or other materials to precise specifications.
• Apply new padding, springs, and coverings using various tools and techniques.
• Perform minor frame repairs, ensuring structural integrity.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven experience as an Upholsterer or similar role.
• Proficiency in using upholstery tools and equipment (staple guns, sewing machines, cutters).
• Strong knowledge of different fabrics, leathers, and padding materials.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret design specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills for complex repairs.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Formal training or apprenticeship in upholstery.
• Experience with antique furniture restoration.
• Knowledge of furniture construction and woodworking.
• Valid driver's license (for potential on-site visits).
