Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hybrid Rolling Stock Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team in Vevey, Switzerland. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems for various rolling stock projects, including trains, trams, and locomotives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the mechanical integrity, performance, and compliance of our cutting-edge railway vehicles. This is a hybrid position, balancing on-site collaboration with flexible remote work.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design and develop mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and systems for rolling stock, adhering to railway standards and project specifications.
• Perform structural calculations, stress analysis (FEM), and fatigue assessments to ensure product safety and durability.
• Create and review detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and BOMs using CAD software.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, systems engineers, and production personnel.
• Support the prototyping, testing, and commissioning phases of new rolling stock projects.
• Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with international railway standards (e.g., EN, TSI) and internal quality guidelines.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications for internal and external stakeholders.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within the rolling stock, automotive, or heavy machinery industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, PTC Creo) and PDM/PLM systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Familiarity with relevant railway standards (e.g., EN 15313, EN 12663, TSI).
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for international collaboration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and multicultural environment.

• Experience with hybrid propulsion systems or advanced lightweight materials.
• Knowledge of German or French.
• Project management experience or certifications.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
