We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Translation Intern to join our dynamic team in Stuttgart. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the professional translation industry, working specifically with German to English content. You will support our project managers and linguists in various tasks, contributing to high-quality language solutions for our diverse client base. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about languages, eager to learn, and looking to kickstart a career in translation or localization.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist senior translators and project managers with German to English translation tasks across various domains (technical, marketing, legal, etc.).
• Perform terminology research and help build and maintain glossaries and term bases.
• Support quality assurance processes, including proofreading and editing translated texts.
• Utilize Translation Memory (TM) and Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Learn about project management workflows in a professional language service environment.
• Contribute to administrative tasks related to translation projects as needed.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Native-level proficiency in English and advanced-level proficiency in German (C1/C2 equivalent).
• Excellent written communication skills in both German and English.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, German Studies, English Literature, or a related field.
• Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource).
• Previous experience with translation projects (academic or professional).
• Understanding of localization principles and cultural nuances.
