We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hybrid Battery Cell Development Engineer to join our innovative E-Mobility division in La Chaux-de-Fonds. This role is critical for advancing the next generation of battery technologies for various electric vehicle and energy storage applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of hybrid battery cells, focusing on enhancing performance, lifespan, and safety. You will work within a dynamic R&D team, collaborating with material scientists, manufacturing engineers, and product managers to bring cutting-edge solutions from concept to production.
Hauptverantwortlichkeiten
- Lead the design and development of innovative hybrid battery cell architectures and components.
- Conduct extensive research into advanced battery materials, including electrodes, electrolytes, and separators.
- Perform electrochemical testing and characterization of new cell chemistries and designs.
- Utilize advanced simulation and modeling tools to predict cell performance and optimize designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate battery cells into larger E-Mobility systems.
- Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and implement design improvements.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in battery technology and competitive landscape.
- Document research findings, technical specifications, and test procedures comprehensively.
- Ensure all development activities comply with relevant safety and quality standards.
Erforderliche Fähigkeiten
- Master's degree in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in battery cell design, development, or characterization.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and battery degradation mechanisms.
- Proficiency with battery testing equipment and analysis techniques (e.g., EIS, CV, galvanostatic cycling).
- Experience with battery modeling and simulation software (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS).
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
- PhD in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Experience with solid-state battery technology or advanced lithium-ion chemistries.
- Familiarity with battery manufacturing processes and scale-up challenges.
- Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) and system integration.
- Proficiency in French or German.
