We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Werkstudent (student worker) to join our Meteorology Data team in Remscheid. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in meteorological data processing and analysis within a leading national weather service. You will support our scientists and data specialists in various tasks related to the acquisition, quality control, and preparation of meteorological datasets. This position is ideal for students with a strong interest in meteorology, data science, or environmental studies who are proficient in English and eager to learn.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist in the collection, organization, and validation of meteorological data from various sources.
• Perform routine quality control checks on incoming data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support data preparation and preprocessing for use in numerical weather prediction models and climate research.
• Document data workflows, methodologies, and quality control procedures.
• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of internal data repositories and databases.
• Collaborate with team members on ongoing data-related projects and ad-hoc analysis tasks.
• Communicate findings and progress effectively within the team, primarily in English.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Meteorology, Geosciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Basic understanding of meteorological concepts and data.
• Familiarity with data handling and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
