Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Working Student to join our Sociology department for a data collection project. This role is crucial for supporting ongoing research by gathering, organizing, and preliminary analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our research team, contributing to meaningful sociological studies. Fluency in English is essential, as much of the data and communication will be in English.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Conduct primary data collection activities, which may include online surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
• Assist in the transcription and coding of qualitative data.
• Perform data entry and ensure accuracy and consistency of collected information.
• Organize and manage datasets using specified software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R).
• Support the research team in literature reviews and background research.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all data handling.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Prepare summaries and basic reports on data collection progress.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Sociology, Social Sciences, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Excellent command of English (C1/C2 level) in both written and spoken communication.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Prior experience with data collection methods (surveys, interviews).
• Familiarity with qualitative or quantitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, R).
• Basic understanding of sociological research methodologies.
• Proficiency in German is a plus, but not required.
