We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hybrid Autonomous Driving Engineer to join our R&D team in Villach. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge hardware and software solutions for autonomous vehicles. You will work on various aspects of autonomous driving systems, from perception and sensor fusion to planning and control, focusing on robust and reliable performance.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, develop, and implement algorithms for various autonomous driving functionalities, including perception, localization, mapping, prediction, planning, and control.
• Integrate and test autonomous driving software components on hardware platforms.
• Conduct simulations and real-world testing to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, systems engineering) to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
• Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and propose effective solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in autonomous driving technology and research.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
• Solid understanding of autonomous driving system architectures and components.
• Experience with sensor fusion techniques (e.g., LiDAR, Radar, Camera).
• Familiarity with robotic operating systems (ROS) or similar middleware.
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms for perception and prediction.
• Experience with simulation environments (e.g., Carla, Gazebo, VTD).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Master’s or PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) in an automotive context.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control systems.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for data processing and model training.
• Publications in relevant conferences or journals.
