Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hydrologist specializing in Water Resources to join our dynamic team in Laxenburg, Austria. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing water-related data, developing hydrological models, and contributing to sustainable water management projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects ranging from flood risk assessment and water quality management to drought mitigation and integrated water resource planning for various clients across Austria and Europe. You will be instrumental in providing expert hydrological insights to support environmental impact assessments, infrastructure development, and climate resilience strategies.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

  • Conduct hydrological data collection, analysis, and interpretation (precipitation, streamflow, groundwater levels).
  • Develop, calibrate, and validate hydrological and hydraulic models (e.g., HEC-RAS, MIKE SHE, SWMM).
  • Perform flood risk assessments, floodplain mapping, and design flood mitigation strategies.
  • Assess water quality and quantity for various water bodies, including rivers, lakes, and groundwater.
  • Contribute to integrated water resource management plans and strategies.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
  • Utilize GIS for spatial analysis and visualization of hydrological data.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and urban planners.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant national and international environmental regulations and standards.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

  • Proven experience in hydrological modeling and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with hydrological software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE 11/21).
  • Strong GIS skills (ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Austrian and EU water regulations.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

  • Master's degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with climate change impact assessments on water resources.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing techniques for hydrological applications.
  • Project management experience.
