Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hybrid Nanotechnology Scientist with a strong background in Materials Science to join our innovative research and development team in Luzern. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, synthesizing, and characterizing novel nanomaterials for various applications, contributing to Lonza’s leading position in advanced therapeutic solutions and material science. You will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate groundbreaking research into tangible products and processes.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Lead the design, synthesis, and functionalization of novel nanomaterials (e.g., nanoparticles, nanowires, nanocoatings) with tailored properties.
• Perform comprehensive characterization of nanomaterials using techniques such as TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD, DLS, and spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis).
• Develop and optimize experimental protocols for material synthesis and functional testing.
• Collaborate with internal R&D teams and external partners on interdisciplinary projects involving nanotechnology and materials science.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports and presentations.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in nanotechnology and materials science, integrating new knowledge into ongoing projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best laboratory practices.
• Contribute to patent applications and scientific publications.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• PhD in Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in nanomaterial synthesis and characterization.
• Proven expertise in wet chemistry synthesis methods for nanoparticles or other nanostructures.
• Strong hands-on experience with advanced material characterization techniques (TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD, DLS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in scientific data analysis software.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with surface modification and functionalization of nanomaterials.
• Familiarity with biocompatible materials and their applications in life sciences.
• Track record of scientific publications and/or patent contributions.
• Knowledge of advanced microscopy and spectroscopic techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, multicultural team.
• Proficiency in German is a plus.
