We are seeking a talented and experienced Hybrid Satellite Communications Engineer to join our dynamic team in Zurich. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge satellite communication systems that integrate seamlessly with terrestrial networks. You will work on a variety of projects, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of our hybrid communication solutions for a diverse range of clients. This position requires a strong technical background in satellite systems, IP networking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within complex global infrastructures.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, configure, and deploy satellite ground segment infrastructure, including VSATs, modems, and antenna systems.
• Integrate satellite communication solutions with existing terrestrial IP networks and cloud platforms.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure high availability and reliability of hybrid systems.
• Conduct testing and validation of new satellite communication technologies and services.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network architects, software developers, and field engineers.
• Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams and external clients.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical infrastructure.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in satellite and hybrid communications.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven experience with satellite communication systems (e.g., VSAT, SCPC, TDMA).
• Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network security principles.
• Familiarity with RF principles, antenna theory, and satellite link budgets.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and analysis.
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for effective international collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, GVF).
• Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV).
• Experience in project management or leading technical initiatives.
• Knowledge of other European languages (e.g., German, French).
